Check in, mingle with small bites and beverages. Class is a 1.5 hour session of teaching and hands-on designing, followed by additional design time, connection, or admiring of artistry.

Catered to the beginner or skilled creative looking to make art with their hands, while being around amazing women. Great opportunity for creating custom-made gifts, while feeling pampered in an atmosphere of artistry, sublime aesthetic, and beauty.

Instructor shows easy tutorial/technique/ ideas for at home use. Guests can select from one of the 3 workshops, Macramé, Modern Embroidery, or Knitting. Creative artisans and local small businesses join together to curate an unbelievable experience just in time for the coziness of Fall, or getting a head start on holiday gift giving!

MACRAMÉ WORKSHOP

Layne Eckhardt Fiber Arts shows easy tutorial, technique, & ideas for designing a modern hanging planter using your choice of black or natural fiber and adding copper accents. Guests walk through the basics of macrame design themselves- how to prep rope, how to tie basic knots, how to embellish and customize, how to weave and finish off. Once the essentials of macrame are learned, she shows how to customize and create intricacy in any design piece.

EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP

Lauren Holton, from Lark Rising, shows easy tutorial, stitch technique, & ideas for designing an embroidered art wall hanging. Guests walk through the basics of embroidery design, from start to finish. Learn how to thread, how to approach different basic stitches-satin stitch, leaf stitch, and back stitch, and how to fill and finish off. Once the essentials are learned, she shows how to customize and create intricacy in any design piece. Guests can expect to leave with take home work.

KNITTING 101 WORKSHOP - SOLD OUT

Nicole Honeycutt, from Persnickety’s Knits, shows easy tutorial, stitch techniques and ideas for designing a sublime knit beanie for the cold months ahead. Her teaching method will focus on knitting continental style. Guests customize by selecting from winter pink or cream yarn, and can embellish with a faux fur bobble.

By combining luxury hand-dyed merino wool and wood knitting needles, we’ve taken the mystery out of selecting a first project.

With this intro guests walk away with the basics of beginning knitting. This includes how to knit on the round, casting on, carrying the yarn, the knit stitch, the purl stitch, the bind off and all the essentials to attach your pom to your lovely knit.

Guests will fall in love with the simplicity of this project.

About the Artists

Nicole Honeycutt | Persnickety's Knits

Lauren Holton | Lark Rising

Nicole is a self taught Native American knitter and designer, living in the PNW. Better known as wife + mum to four amazing kids ranging in age from 11-23.

Most days you can find her knee deep in yarn, casting on and finishing several knits at a time. Nicole’s passion comes from all the gorgeous, luxury hand dyed yarns she sources from indie fiber artists and an endless pursuit to create beautiful fabric.

When she’s not knitting, she’s collecting plants adding to her sprawling urban jungle, last count 128 plants.

Her busy family rarely stays still, they love to travel! Chasing the sun + salt of the ocean during the short summer season or camping under the stars. By winter, it’s skiing + all things warm and cozy. Is there anything more hygge than fall or winter knitting?! Look for her fall/winter accessory collection for the entire family releasing late October!

Lauren is a PNW native and life-long crafter, who fell in love with embroidery by chance and never looked back. She is a full-time mama to a 3-year old son by day, and an embroidery artist by night. Lauren is the woman behind Lark Rising Embroidery, an Etsy shop and Instagram page (@larkrising), filled with hand-drawn and embroidered botanical designs. Lauren loves the tactile nature of working with fiber, as well as the endless possibilities that embroidery provides—if you can dream it and sketch/write it, you can stitch it too. As a busy mom and nature lover, she appreciates the compactness and portability of her craft and loves that she can take her stitching with her wherever she goes. Lauren loves traveling with her husband and son, snuggling with her dog while reading a book, eating tacos and ice cream, and turning her house into a houseplant jungle.

Layne Harris | Layne Eckhardt Fiber Arts

Layne Eckhardt is a teacher and a macramé artist. She has a distinct ability to teach to any skill level, providing clear direction and patient instruction. Layne has a superb design aesthetic, which she intricately weaves into all her macrame art. She creates wall hangings, plant hangers, table runners, and anything else she can imagine from tying knots. Her father was also a macramé artist, and he started teaching her basic knots from the time she was young. From then on, she has been developing and perfecting her craft by learning from other artists and managing her own Etsy shop.

For her, macramé is a meditative activity and a way to slow down, focus her thoughts, and be present.

Her passion is in sharing this craft with others and finding new ways to be innovative and creative with her own knots. Her designs are featured in her Etsy shop or her growing customer following on Instagram. When she's not designing, she also enjoys decorating her home, reading, and spending quality time with wife and cats.
