LOVE IN ACTION : DIY EXPRESSIONS

Event Concept & Description:

Come one, come all!    It's time to meet in person while making beautiful holiday decor for your home, embellishments for gifts or hand-made designs for others.   Join us at Seattle's design studio, StudioLife; a place passionate for creating space for connection and creativity.   Gather around the tables, and let your creative juices flow. Select from an array of curated items ready to make a watercolor citrus garland, gift embellishment, or something to enhance your   meal.    You decide, you create, you take home.

Love in Action is about connecting hearts and hands to express our gratitude and love for selves and others.   This all ages, all skill-levels experience showcases ideas for festive party hosting. Learn how to make your own decorative valentine garland, mix a custom rim-sugar for the "fancy" bevies, and watch how to elevate your holiday (food) board game-thanks to a live demo from The Gema Collective.  Use this time to create a custom-made gift or seasonal decoration to enjoy year after year. 

Inspired by our popular Galentine’s Soirèe's, Love in Action invites you to participate and experience artistry, connectivity, and beauty within a community when we all join together to celebrate the art of an occasion.  Use watercolor and lettering to personalize your own unique decor.

This is a fully DIY experience, and will not have instructor tutorials.   Come to create with various components, materials, and embellishments-all provided for your easy, inspired designing.

Play with water color:

Dabble your brush into the paint palette to create watercolor designs inspired by The Mint Gardener.  Practice lettering styles and brush lettering inspired by letters by ellen guides.      (Full recorded, online classes can be purchased from StudioLife for both instructors.)    With the purchase of your ticket, recieve a complimentary link to a Beginner's watercolor class hosted by Sarah of The Mint Gardener. You can watch anytime either before or after "Love in Action" workshop to fine-tune your skills. 

Custom Citrus Heart Garland:     Multiple sized heart cut outs feature guest illustrated floral patterns, words, and wash.    Comes with garland floss, dried citrus, and needle for simple lacing and customization ideas.

Send Your Love: Express your kindness, gratitude, and love to your someone special.   Select a card from a special Valentine Collection designed and hand-crafted by The Mint Gardener and letters by ellen.   Write your sentiments, seal it with a kiss, and send it to someone you love.  Snail mail is the best gift!   

Cheese Board Demo: Enjoy a Pacific Northwest inspired cheese board by Gema Collective and learn how to elevate your own cheese boards at home. We’ll guide you through our step-by-step process, styling tips, incorporating foraged elements and edible flowers. We hope you leave feeling inspired and empowered to create a seasonal, intentional, and artful spread at your next gathering!

Bio:

Gema Collective is based in Seattle and founded by Tanya Fink and Aziza Seykota, a registered dietitian and a floral designer, both with a love of natural beauty, nourishing food, and community. Their artistic boards celebrate the wild and organic parts of nature.
