ABOUT ENGAGEMENT
Social Engagement is a time to engage with others. These events are open to all adults 21+. Take time to hang with your pals, date your significant other, meet someone from your community or neighborhood, appreciate your co-workers, bond with your teammates. Engage and learn something new in a comfortable environment, at a hip PNW venue, all while supporting local makers, artists and small businesses.
Social Creative Engagement events feature teaching, food, beverage, music and always support local.
ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE
Join us for our big Summer Social {Engagement} where all adults are invited to celebrate the kick off to Summer .
This is a time to loosen up, have fun learning, and do good while supporting local artists and advocates whose passion and purpose is for empowering others through their stories and craftsmanship.
Get ready for summer parties and your opportunity to mix/shake/pour some dang good summer bevs. Learn from Seattle's known expert rum-tender and mixologist, Jennifer Akin (former GM of Rumba and co-creator of Inside Passage).
She'll share the basics of rum, history of tiki, and show you how to make and customize the tiki classic,"The Zombie".
Not into Tiki? No Prob! She's sharing essentials you need to know for those cold summer bevs- garnish to glass, ice to ingredient, zero proof to spirited. Questions are welcome at her bar-so ask the expert!
Then, get your game faces on for some pop culture trivia hosted by Head in the Clouds Trivia. This Jeopardy champ two-some brings all the fun to their audio, visual, and cleverly quipped questions. Sip and strategize to win the prize. Come with a team (2-6 people), or find one there!

Jen Akin | Mixologist & Rum Enthusiast
“Jen is a 15 year industry veteran of several of seattle’s cocktail institutions, including Oliver’s Twist, Tavern Law, Needle & Thread, and most recently Rumba. Over her career she has garnered multiple accolades, national write-ups, and top cocktail competition placements, including speed rack, and Bombay’s Most Imaginative Bartender.
During her six years as General Manager, Rumba has garnered consecutive top 10 nods for best cocktail bar – west, as well as World’s Best Spirits Selection five years in a row at Tales of the Cocktail’s Spirited Awards. She is also the co-creator and opening GM of Inside Passage; an ethereal underwater immersion bar located next door to Rumba.
After a stage 4 ovarian cancer diagnosis in 2020, Jen decided to take a step back and refocus on hobbies, family, and friends. She currently works for a spirits and wine import company representing world renowned brands. In her spare time, Jen travels to rum destinations of the world, mixing her business and pleasure, but enjoying her rums neat.”
